Wild Pearl, written in the first person, is a romance mystery set in the French countryside of Provence during the ingenuous nineteen-seventies. Lydia Chisholm and her friend Hester Manley, find themselves embroiled in a maze of subtle intrigue, after a chance encounter with a young man. This turn of events soon takes on a darker twist within the walls of a luxurious château and its surrounding pine forest.

The light-hearted holiday atmosphere at the beginning of this sun-lit adventure becomes entangled both with the intricacies of the developing relationship between Lydia and two men, Philip Denning and Nicholas Gerdane, and with attempts by her to unravel the truth fermenting sinisterly just beneath the surface. Not everyone whom Lydia meets is who they seem.

Whilst the mystery plays out, the beginnings of honest and unexpected pangs and jealousies of love develop tentatively between Lydia and her new man; but as with all things in life, it is not guaranteed.

Plunged into danger amidst the forest tempests, Lydia must dig deeply within herself, ably assisted by stories from the Greek gods and the collective consciousness and experience of women everywhere, to escape from within its grip. In the most terrifying of circumstances, the truth is uncovered - layer by lustrous layer.
